Your colleagues would love to hear how successful you are in your life care planning practice! Share your knowledge and achievements with your own poster presentation.


Gain the recognition you deserve for your expertise in the field of life care planning by presenting a poster at the upcoming Annual AANLCP conference. A Poster Presentation offers an ideal opportunity to share your expertise, network, and exchange ideas with your colleagues.


We welcome poster abstracts from nurse life care planners and others on all topics related to life care planning. Posters are welcome from both teams and individuals.


Poster abstracts will be accepted for submission through Dec 15, 2017, at 11:59 pm EST. Abstract authors will be notified by Jan 19, 2018 of reviewers' decision.

Presentations must:

  • Demonstrate a concise statement of significance to the topic;
  • Be applicable for the anticipated audience of beginning, mid or advanced levels of practice;
  • Focus on innovative subjects of interest to those working in any life care planning setting, including independent, education, government/military, corporate, etc.;
  • Be appropriate for nurse life care planners and others;
  • Offer sufficient detail to demonstrate the relevance of the topic for presentation; and
  • Pertain to life care planning methodology, research that provides a scientific foundation for the life care plan, nursing diagnosis/process, evidence/solution-based practice, disability management, safety, health promotion, business/management, ethics, and legal.


Before you begin:

You will need to list three (3) Educational Learning Objectives in your abstract, so have that information is prepared before your submission. Please ensure your submission is unique to our conference, and that your presentation is not given to another organization or event at least 60 days before or after this Conference.


Submission Guidelines:

The online submission process can be accessed by visiting To submit a poster abstract, all submitters must first complete the poster application found on the Website, Poster Submission. Once the application has been completed, follow the prompts to submit your online abstract submission.

Deadline: The call for abstract will close on Dec 15, 2017, at 11:59 pm EST. The presentation that does not adhere to the guidelines and received after the deadline will not be reviewed.



Posters are approximately 28”-48” trifold display boards.

Table tops will be provided at the venue.



  • A poster is a graphically-based approach to presenting your topic. You should aim to use the poster as a means for generating active discussion.
  • Include the poster title and author(s) name in large letters centered at the top of the poster. Include the address, phone number and email address.
  • Create your slides using power point. Each slide should be affixed to the poster board.
  • Present your poster sections in a methodical sequence so that others can follow the logic of your presentation.
  • Use a type size that can be read easily from a considerable distance (4 feet or more). Select a legible font such as Times New Roman or Arial.
  • Your topic should be supported by evidence; therefore reference citation/s should be noted on the appropriate slides.
  • A reference page should be the last slide. If many references, a complete reference page can be a handout. Citations and the reference page should be in APA format (6th edition). 
  • Poster presenters should be available at their poster location during designated timeframes to answer attendee questions. 


Your bio and professional head shot (in .jpg format) is required.  AANLCP reserves the right to review and edit any bios submitted during the “Call for Posters.”
