2019 AANLCP Education Conference

March 21-24, 2019

Las Vegas, NV

 

SESSION DEVELOPMENT

The mission of AANLCP is to support the nursing community in achieving excellence in the practice of Nurse Life Care Planning. AANLCP promotes education, collegiality, collaboration, research, and standards as they relate to the practice of Nurse Life Care Planning.


The annual educational conference provides a facilitated learning environment through classroom sessions, poster presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Note: AANLCP is a non-profit organization and all speaking position are unpaid positions. 

You will need to list three (3) Educational Learning Objectives in your proposal, so have that information prepared prior to your submission.  We ask that you ensure your presentation is unique to our conference, and that your presentation is not given to another organization or event at least 60 days before or after this Conference. 

  

      TOPIC SUGGESTIONS

 

  1. Clinical content focused presentations across the age continuum (pediatric, adolescent, adult (include childbearing, fertility and elder) addressing the injury categories of BI, SCI, Burns, Amputations, MVA
  2.  Identify recommendations for treatment plan and nursing diagnosis
  3.  Address up and coming technologies, treatments, procedures
  4.  Housing considerations (modifications, congregate living or individual living situations)
  5.  How to address the Independent Education Plan in your Life Care Plan
  6.  Practice Considerations for the business of Nurse Life Care Planning
  7.  Social Media
  8.  Evidence Based Practice
  9.  Research and the LCP
  10.  Ethics
  11.  Critiquing and defending the LCP
  12.  Costing

 

PREPARE YOUR INFORMATION BEFORE SUBMITTING

All information received, especially your abstract and bio, should be proofed for spelling and grammatical errors. *AANLCP reserves the right to edit titles and content of your abstract submission. Information you should prepare includes:

 

Information for EACH presenter:

  •  Full Name, Credentials, Job Title, Company & Home Address, Work & Home Phone Number, FAX Number, and E-mail Address. NOTE: If you have a typo when entering your email address, we will have no way of getting in touch with you! 

Presentation Title

  •  Limited to 65 characters or less – no exceptions will be made
  •  LONG TITLES are discouraged, and may be edited by AANLCP

Presentation Abstract

  •  What message are you trying to get across
  •  Limited to a maximum of 2000 characters

 Bio for EACH presenter

  •  Limited to a maximum of 4000 characters
  • Written in paragraph format – do not use a resume or CV as your bio
  • Do not compose in the 1st person tense or list hobbies and/or personal family comments. Selected presenter bios will be posted to AANLCP’s website.

REVIEW PROCESS

 

 

 

AANLCP will make program selections based on criteria the described below.

  •  Originality of material
  •  Overall quality of content
  •  Relevance / timeliness to current issues
  • Well-defined focus and objectives
  •   Practical applications of material
  •  Level of speaking experience and expertise
  •  Basic, Intermediate, Advanced level knowledge
  •  Hands-on learning for immediate application
  •   Free from commercial bias ( no marketing is allowed in sessions)
  • All components presented are neat and in the correct format
  •  Final selections are based on the best fit within the designed program curriculum.
